Psoriasis Association Welcomes New Chair

Nick Evans was elected at the Annual General Meeting 2015

Nick Evans elected as ChairAt the Annual General Meeting on Saturday 9th May 2015, Nick Evans was elected as Chair of the Psoriasis Association. Nick takes over from Ray Jobling, who held the position for 38 years.

All at the Psoriasis Association gratefully thank Mr Jobling for his stewardship and dedication to the cause. He was presented with the honour of Life Vice President of the Psoriasis Association, to recognise his service.

One nomination for Chair of Trustees was received, and it is our great pleasure to announce that Nick Evans was duly elected. Nick worked as an NHS manager for over 38 years in both hospitals and health authorities, and was an executive director of various NHS organisations for over 20 years until his retirement in 2011.

Nick’s interest in dermatology services began in 2001 when he was seconded to the NHS Modernisation Agency, and set up and led the national Action On Dermatology programme. Since leaving the NHS Nick has maintained his links with dermatology, chairing the advisory committee to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Skin, and as a Trustee of the Psoriasis Association.

Of his election, Nick said: “I am thrilled and honoured to be elected Chair of the Psoriasis Association. In accepting this role I would like to thank my predecessor, Ray Jobling, who first invited me to join the Association, and whose own contribution as Chair for over 30 years has been immense. My time as a trustee over the past three years has been varied and interesting, and I have been much impressed by the strength and experience of both the staff team and my fellow trustees. I look forward to strengthening my working links with them all, and to engaging with members.”
