For Psoriasis Awareness Week 2019, our theme is treating psoriasis before, during and after childbirth. Planning for a family is a very exciting time but for many parents with psoriasis, this can mean worrying about what treatments they will be able to use and what effect changing treatments may have on their psoriasis.

During Awareness Week, we will be focusing on treating psoriasis while preparing for a family, some of the options available during pregnancy and treatments for after a child is born.

To help highlight some of the issues faced during this time, we have produced a set of videos explaining what people with psoriasis can expect when preparing for a family. One of these videos is from a female patient perspective, one from a male patient perspective, and one from a clinician.

Today we are releasing the first of these videos, which is Greg Finnegan’s story. Actor, Greg, who has had psoriasis since he was eight years old, is now a father to three young boys. He discusses the benefits of having a supportive partner once your baby has arrived and how he balances his treatment routine with being a busy, working Dad.
