Psoriasis Shout Out Set To Return

Events will be held in Manchester, Dublin, Newcastle and Leeds this October.

The Psoriasis Shout Out initiative, led by Professor Chris Griffiths from The University of Manchester, aims to raise awareness of this often overlooked condition and bring together people living with psoriasis with those who work in the field of psoriasis management and research.

Following successful events in 2014 and 2016, the Psoriasis Shout Out returns between 8th - 14th October this year. The Shout Out's Healthcare Roadshow will travel to locations in Salford, Manchester, Bury and Dublin, while their will be additional events held in Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester. Healthcare Roadshow


The roadshow has a fully-equipped healthcare trailer where members of the public can engage with healthcare professionals and other people living with psoriasis. Visitors will be able to find out more about the condition, different treatment options and cutting edge research ongoing in their area. Mindfulness taster sessions will also be offered at times TBC. The roadshow will visit the following locations between 9am - 5pm on the dates given below:

  • Tuesday 9th October - Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust
    • Wednesday 10th October - St Ann's Square, Manchester
      • Thursday 11th October - St Ann's Square, Manchester
        • Friday 12th October - The Rock Shopping Centre, Bury
          • Saturday 13th October - Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin

            The following events will also take place throughout Shout Out week:

            • Monday 8th October (12 - 2pm) - Let's Talk Psoriasis! - Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle - This event in Newcastle will include presentations from leading dermatologists including Professor Nick Reynolds and Dr Henry Grantham. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss with staff.
            • Wednesday 10th October (11.30am - 1pm) - Let's Talk Psoriasis! - Clinical Research Centre, Seminar Room, Chapel Allerton Hospital, Leeds, LS7 4SA - Come along for presentations about psoriasis from a dermatologist’s perspective, a nurse’s perspective and a patient’s perspective, with time for questions and answers. This is a free to attend event and all are welcome including parents of children with psoriasis, adults with the condition, carers and healthcare professionals.
            • Thursday 11th October (5 - 6.30pm) - Let's Talk Psoriasis! - CityLabs, Nelson Street, Manchester, M13 9NQ - Join us to find out more about psoriasis, current treatment options and exciting research ongoing in Manchester. This is an opportunity to meet others with the condition, and to participate in a Q&A with world leading experts.
            • Thursday 11th October (7 - 9pm) - Psoriasis: Next Generation Healthcare - CityLabs, Nelson Street, Manchester, M13 9NQ - You are also invited to celebrate the launch of the Psoriasis – Rapid Access Clinic - a cutting edge initiative and a revolutionary approach to psoriasis management that could be transformational for patients. The launch event will include snapshot presentations from dermatologists, researchers and patient representatives. To register your interest and for further information, please click here.             • Friday 12th October (10.30 - 11.30am) - Yoga - "Stay calm, get active!" - The University of Manchester, G.66 Activity Room, Simon Building, Brunswick Street, M13 9PL - Exercise is a great way to reduce your stress levels and improve your overall wellbeing. Iyengar Yoga is a type of yoga that places special attention to posture and breath control. It is suitable for complete beginners and all types of fitness. We are holding a free Iyengar Yoga session for beginners led by qualified instructor Clare Tunstall. To register your interest in this free event please email info@psoriasisshoutout.co.uk.
