Dovonex Cream Discontinued

Dovonex cream has been discontinued and will no longer be available to prescribe.

After discontinuing the Dovonex scalp solution earlier this year, LEO Pharma have reduced the Dovonex range further, discontinuing the cream in September. This was a purely commercial decision, and has not been taken because of any quality or safety worries, meaning you can keep using any Dovonex cream you may still have.

Dovonex ointment is still available. This is thicker and greasier than the cream, so if you decide to use this, you may have to change your treatment routine around a bit- perhaps applying at night rather than in the morning, or leaving a little longer to allow it to sink in. A generic version of the scalp solution is available- Calcipotriol Scalp Solution- but, at present, there is no generic version of the cream.
